ALPHA CLASS:
Room 110: For “middle years” couples. ALPHA studies a wide range of topics, from Bible study to social issues, in an open forum of discussion. Missions include Christmas Providers, adoption of a family through the Community Enrichment Center, and monthly giving to needy families. ALPHA gathers regularly for a variety of social activities and supports RHUMC projects.
FIDELIS:
Room 100: This class is a family of couples and singles 60 years of age and older, although persons of any age are welcome. The class format includes singing hymns, responding to members with illness or other concerns, and studying the Adult Bible Series literature. Missions projects include sponsoring a child at the Methodist Home in Waco, preparing holiday baskets, and donating to the Christmas Providers and the Metropolitan Board of Missions. The class also supports other projects as the need arises. Luncheons are the second Saturday of each month.
FRIENDSHIP:
Room 102/104: Friendship, mostly folks 70 and over, singles and couples, enjoys a variety of studies, grounded in the Bible or the history of Christianity. Outreach ministries include sponsoring campers, Metro Board, N.E.E.D., Methodist Children’s Home, United Community Centers, and other projects. The class gathers frequently for socials.
MIX & MATCH
CLASS (MIXED NUTS)
Room 103: This class is designed for anyone who is interested in discussing a variety of topics about living a Christian life. It is not an age group; it is not a couples class; it is not a singles group….it is an adult class for anyone who wants to grow in his or her faith understanding. Discussion, videos, Bible study, and topical studies make up the format.
NEW BEGINNINGS:
Room 105: This class is diverse in age and marital status, Parents and Grand Parents. The class explores scripture through a variety of study sources and teaching tools. Open discussion and class participation is vital to the spiritual growth of members. Class members are involved in monthly social gatherings that mostly include entire families while occasionally encouraging “adult-only” events. The class provides an annual scholarship to a youth member of RHUMC to attend Glen Lake Camp. Additional mission opportunities include adopting and supporting local families in need of assistance and supporting RHUMC projects.
OPEN DOOR:
Room 109: This class welcomes visitors and new members to the Church and helps them find a place/class where they can feel at home. It is comprised of single and married adults with an eclectic mix of ages, whose children range from young to grown. Open Door studies a wide range of topics with an open forum of discussion and has monthly social gatherings. They are very involved in supporting church-sponsored projects, activities and mission trips.
