The Cross Roads is a rotation Sunday School program that RHUMC opened in September of 2002.  Church members worked on this project faithfully from November of 2001 until the opening and are still working to bring new and exciting components to this ministry!  Rotation Sunday School offers children a variety of creative settings to rotate through on a monthly basis.  Each month there is a new biblical theme and this theme is repeated weekly in the various stations!  RHUMC offers a computer lab, storytelling tent, movie theater and drama room.  Currently our Marketplace is underway.

You can climb up through our hanging gardens, over our well and into our Biblical town (complete with the faux brick walls).  Once upstairs, students can sit around a “Campfire” under a large Bedouin tent for stories.  Or they can eat popcorn in our movie theater while watching a movie related to the theme.  Another week, they can act out the stories and/or play games pertaining to the biblical story in our drama room, complete with stage, costumes and karaoke machine!  Or, they can spend an hour in the computer lab.  While the teachers may change on a regular basis, we have several faithful shepherds who are with the children each week for continuity.

In 2001 and 2002, we raised about $ 18,000.00 for the renovation necessary to create this special space.  One of the wonderful aspects of rotation Sunday School is that it is an ongoing process.  Currently, church members are busy completing murals and working to make the Marketplace our new special space.  Soon, “we’ll be cooking!”
